Celebrity Cruises to Costa Rica

The Central American country of Costa Rica diverse habitats and relies heavily on eco-tourism. Many vacationers choose to visit Costa Rica as part of a cruise vacation. Celebrity Cruises offers several distinct sailings that highlight Costa Rica. Visitors are offered more than 20 shore excursions, including a rain forest tram, a zip line through the jungle or a canopy tour exploring wild plants and animals. Guests can choose a sailing with ports of call throughout the Caribbean, Mexico or the Panama Canal. Celebrity cruises in each region include a port stop in Puerto Limon or Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

    • The Celebrity Equinox offers 11-day cruises round trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ports of call include one full day in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, as well as a day in Cozumel, Mexico, Honduras, Panama, Columbia and the Cayman Islands. This ship debuted in 2009 as the second of the larger Solstice class ships, with a passenger capacity of over 2,800. The Equinox features eight different restaurants serving food that include Asian fusion, buffet style or a specialty steakhouse. Passengers can choose from 14 bars and lounges. The ship features a garden lawn club, with fresh cut grass and a patio area.

    Mexico

    • The Celebrity Constellation offers a selected 15-day sailing with a one-day port stop in Costa Rica, Columbia and four ports in Mexico. Vacationers can visit the beach areas of Huatulco or Acapulco, shop the markets or visit the colonial churches in Puerto Vallarta, or enjoy the rock archways and flea markets of Cabo San Lucas. The Celebrity Constellation, fully refurbished in 2010, offers passengers an opportunity to participate in on-board activities such as flower arranging. Traditional cruise ship amenities such as casino gaming or spa treatments are offered along with six restaurant options.

    Panama Canal

    • The Celebrity Millennium offers an annual 15-day cruise from San Diego, California, to Miami, Florida, through the Panama Canal. The trip includes four one-day port stops on the Pacific side of Mexico and Central America including Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco, Mexico, Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala and Puntarenas, Costa Rica, before heading through the Panama Canal. After transit, the ship spends one day in each of the ports of Colon, Panama, and Cartagena, Colombia, on the way to Florida. The ship, built in 2000, was refurbished in 2007 to expand the Aqua spa and add a demonstration kitchen and dine-in wine cellar. This ship offers an ocean view with 80 percent of cabins.
