Things to Do on a Cruise in Bermuda

Bermuda is located approximately 600 miles off the coast of North Carolina. It's a British territory, and has an English feel. Bermuda is made up of more than 100 islands. Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean all have regular trips to Bermuda. Cruises can be as short as three days, or as long as nine days. Many cruises include several days in port, so passengers can take advantage of all that Bermuda has to offer.
  1. Water Activities

    • The pink sand beaches and turquoise water of Bermuda make for a stunning backdrop for favorite water activities. Snorkel through the world's northernmost coral reef. Helmet dive and explore the shipwrecks off the coast. Meet some dolphins and take a swim with them. Take a tour on a glass bottomed boat and enjoy the underwater view. Other water activities include parasailing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and chartering boats.

    Land Activities

    • Take a walk in a park or hike around a nature preserve. Learn a bit about British and Bermudan history by visiting the Royal Naval Dockyard. There are also 90 British forts in Bermuda, some of which have been restored and are open to the public. Crystal Cave was described by Mark Twain as "the most beautiful cave in the world." Fantasy Cave is open to the public as well. The caves offer guided tours throughout the day. Bermuda also is home to an art museum and a maritime museum. Another popular destination is the town of St. George, which is "the oldest continuously inhabited town of English origin in the New World", according to bermuda.com.

    Onboard

    • They say that getting there is half the fun, and passengers on a Bermudan cruise will certainly agree. Activities and amenities will vary, depending on the cruise line and the length of the trip. Most cruises offer family activities including age appropriate youth clubs and entertainment. Many offer a casino at sea, age restrictions apply. You might also find a spa and salon featuring everything from massages to acupuncture. Most likely there's a fitness center, onboard sports and pools. Meals are included in the price for most cruises, and there's always plenty to eat. Stroll or jog around the deck and enjoy the sunset. No matter which cruise line you choose, there will be plenty to keep you busy.
