There are lots of activities you can enjoy during the day. Climb a rock wall, swim in the pools or whirlpools or watch the sea from your balcony or the ship deck. There are games to play, including miniature golf, the Newlywed Game, shuffleboard and video game lounges. You can spend part of your day in the on-board casino and try your hand at blackjack, poker, craps or the slot machines. Spend the day at the spa and let them pamper you. There are adult-only areas of the ship where you can talk and meet other adults.
Some of the cruise ships like the Carnival Dream have a water park.
There are activities for the kids, too. The cruise ship has activity areas for children of different ages such as Camp Carnival or Circle "C" and Club02. Kids can talk with other kids, play video games, read or play under the watchful eye of Carnival staff.
Dance the night away. See one of several shows available. Watch movies on the big screen. Listen to live music in the piano bar or sing in the karaoke bar. Stand out on the deck and watch the stars with someone you love. See if Lady Luck is on your side in the ship casino. Spend your evening and night locked away with that special someone in your cabin.
Cruises that last three or more days usually have excursions you can join. These usually cost extra and you may need to bring your passport along to participate. You can join a group tour or go off on your own to explore the local area. Snorkel, parasail, swim in the ocean or see the sights. You can choose those activities that appeal to you.
Group packages are available for all kinds of groups. Singles groups may have mix-and-mingle activities, speed dating and separate tables so that members can get to know each other. Business groups can use some of the meeting rooms to hold seminars and corporate meetings.
Take a cruise with a musical theme. See Elvis impersonators and enjoy some of his best music. Perhaps you are more into authentic Southern music or rock 'n' roll or gospel. Carnival has put together packages where you can share the music with other fans.
Cruise meals are included in the fare. Different kinds of menus and specialties are available, from steaks and seafood to sandwiches and everything in between. Choose casual or formal dining. It's up to you.
