How to Take a Club Med Cruise

Club Med, the French travel company best known for its land-based, all-inclusive vacations, offers seven, ten and fourteen-night cruises aboard its sailing ship, the "Club Med 2." This five-mast vessel sails the Caribbean Sea in the winter and the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas in the summer. One price includes everything--airfare, accommodations, meals, activities on board and transportation to and from the ship.

      Join Club Med. Club Med vacations are sold to members only and is easy to join. If this is your first trip with Club Med, you'll be charged a one-time initiation fee as well as the annual dues along with your cruise fare. When you take your next Club Med vacation, you'll only have to pay the annual dues.

      Enjoy the casual atmosphere. The ambiance on the "Club Med 2" is much more casual than you'll find on many other cruise ships. There are no formal nights; slacks and a nice shirt are considered "dressy" on this vessel.

      Savor French cuisine. Club Med vacations--including the "Club Med 2"--are known for their excellent French food and wine. Three meals per day plus snacks are included in the cruise fare. Even bar drinks are included.

      Call at small, less crowded ports. Because it's smaller than most cruise ships, the "Club Med 2" can anchor at smaller ports where larger ships cannot. Some of the vessel's ports of call include Virgin Gorda and St. Barts, in the Caribbean, and Portofino and St. Tropez, in the Mediterranean.

      Relax in the Wellness Centre. The Wellness Centre is the ship's spa. Here you can get a massage, a facial and a variety of other spa services. Most spa treatments carry an additional fee.

      Participate in free sports activities. A variety of sports are included in the Club Med cruise fare. You can take a scuba lesson, go snorkeling and enjoy waterskiing, kayaking and water aerobics.
