What connects Pittsburgh and the ferris wheel?

Pittsburgh is home to Kennywood Park, which has the oldest operating Ferris wheel in the United States. The wheel was built in 1898 and originally had 36 open cars; it was modified to its current enclosed cars design in 1920.
