What was the first recorded bridge?
The earliest known bridge is believed to be the Arkadiko Bridge, discovered in the Peloponnese, Greece. It was built around 1300 BCE and was used by the Mycenaean civilization to cross the river Kourtaliotis. The bridge was made of large, fitted stones and was approximately 22 metres long and 5.6 metres wide. It is one of the most ancient man-made structures still in existence.
