Obtain the cab company's phone number. Use a telephone book if near a phone booth, try an online cab directory or directory assistance if you have access to a device to search the Internet. For example, when performing a directory assistance search, enter the keywords "Taxi" or "Cab" and the city and state to find taxi companies near your area.
Call the cab company from a land line or wireless phone. At most taxi companies, a dispatcher will take your call.
Provide the dispatcher your current location and destination address. To expedite the process, mention landmarks or main street names near your current location. After you provide this information, the company will send a taxi to your location.
Wait outside, if possible, or listen carefully for the taxi's horn.
