The Mountain View Corridor will ease the increasing traffic congestion commuters face in Salt Lake and Utah counties. The road will serve 13 communities and is expected to increase residential property values by improving travel conditions and creating parks, trails and other new recreational opportunities.
The Mountain View Corridor will create easy access to locations in central Utah and the hope is it will attract new businesses searching for convenient locations. Commercial property along the corridor is expected to increase in value as a result of the improved infrastructure.
While the Mountain View Corridor has enjoyed general support from the public, several groups have raised concerns about the increase in air pollution, lighting, noise and the sacrifice of wetlands due to construction of the project. Some owners predict a decrease in property values because of environmental and health impacts.
