How to Take the Subway from Boston's Logan Airport

Boston is known as the walking city, but it also has a very good public transportation system. Although there is no subway stop connected directly to the terminals, there are free and easy shuttle buses set up to get passengers to the subway stations. If a passenger has a little bit of time and can do a little advance research, taking the subway, called the T in Boston, from Boston's Logan Airport is an easy and inexpensive option.

Begin your trip by using the MBTA subway map to determine your destination subway station.

Jump on the Airport Station shuttle bus. If the destination station is on the Orange, Green, or Blue Lines, look for the Massport shuttle bus #22 or #33, which will take you to the Blue Line Airport Station during regular airport hours. Bus #22 transports Terminals A and B passengers to the Airport Station. Terminals C and D passengers are transported to the Airport Station by bus #33.

During off-peak airport hours, Bus #55 transports passengers between all terminals and the MBTA Airport Station. Note that the MBTA Blue Line operates approximately 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. each day.

If your destination station is on the Red subway line, hop on board the Silver Line SL1 bus. This will drop you off at Boston's South Station where you can catch the Red Line, as well as some commuter trains and Amtrak. Note that the Silver Line operates from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. every day.
