Big Chief RV Resort has 69 full hookup sites with 30/50-amp electrical, room for slide-outs and 49 pull-through spaces. Interior roads are a combination of gravel and pavement, but all are in good condition. Those roads lead you to big sites offering views of Lake Buchanan where you can take advantage of the boat ramp to go boating, swimming or fishing. Facilities include bathrooms, showers and a laundry. If you and your amateur geologist friends are gathering in Burnet for either an RV rally or rock rally, there is a big clubhouse for either purpose. About nine miles to the west of the city is Longhorn Cavern State Park, which attracts interest due to its incredibly smooth walls.
