Northeast of San Antonio in northern Comal County is Canyon Lake, a scenic reservoir that has become a major tourist destination in Texas. Visitors flock to Canyon Lake to swim, boat, fish and camp. Guests who are traveling by RV have a number of parks around the area to choose from.

    • Creek Hollow Cabins and RV Park is a family-owned park 10 minutes from Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River. Creek Hollow offers 20 RV sites with full hookups, and the park can accommodate both 30- and 50-amp electrical services. RV sites can be rented on a daily basis or by the week for a reduced rate. Amenities at Creek Hollow include private restrooms with showers, a swimming pool and hot tub, a laundromat, recreation hall and dump station. Guests are welcome to bring pets as long as they keep them on a leash. Other enforced policies include quiet time after 10 p.m., and no children are allowed in the swimming pool without an adult.

    Walnut Canyon RV Park

    • Walnut Canyon RV Park is a 37-acre park about three miles from Canyon Lake. Canyon RV Park has 40 full-hookup RV sites and can accommodate 20-, 30- and 50-amp electrical services. Many of the sites have natural shade from the oak and walnut trees in the park. Guests have access to the park's fishing pond and free wireless Internet. Walnut Canyon RV Park offers daily, weekly and monthly rates. Monthly rates require electricity fees and a refundable electricity deposit. Walnut Canyon's management team is at the park daily, providing service to guests throughout the year.

    Landa RV & Campground

    • Landa RV & Campground is in New Braunfels, right on the Cormal River near Canyon Lake. The park has 90 full-service RV sites, as well as water and electrical hookups for additional sites. Amenities include showers, private restrooms and a disposal station. The park offers daily, weekly and monthly rates, and prices vary depending on proximity to the river and time of the year. Rates are more expensive between April and September. Pets are welcome, although the campground requires dogs staying at the park for a month or more to be under 20 lbs. Holidays require a small additional charge, and RVs with a 50-amp electrical hookup also require an extra fee.
