Find the fill spout for the freshwater tank. This is located on the side of the RV near the rest of the connections. It usually has a white spout and cover.
Remove the cap. Most caps will lift-up varieties; however, some caps will unscrew. If your cap isn’t attached to the spout, place it in a secure spot.
Unscrew the vent plug and place it in a safe spot. On some models, the vent plug snaps into place. In that case, you simply have to pull the plug up to remove it.
Fill the freshwater tank by pouring fresh water in using a clean bucket or by inserting a clean hose into the fill spout.
Watch the water level in the freshwater tank. If you are going to be travelling, you shouldn’t fill it more than 1/4 to 1/2 full, as the water will add excess weight to the tank. If you aren’t travelling, fill the freshwater tank all the way so the water pump can function properly.
Remove the hose or take the bucket away from the fill spout when the tank is filled to the desired level.
Replace the vent plug. If your vent plug screws in, be sure that it is tight. If you push it back into place, ensure that it is pushed in all the way. This plug maintains the proper pressure for the onboard water pump to work properly.
Close the cap. Make sure it is secure so that your water and tank don’t get contaminated.
