How to Fill the Water Tank on an RV
An RV holds drinking, washing and cooking water in a fresh water holding tank. The system is designed with ease of use and filling in mind. Almost all RVs have a direct water cap and tube that leads into the water tank for easy filling. Use anything from a clean garden hose to dedicated fresh water hoses at campgrounds to fill your tank to keep the fresh water flowing when camping and adventuring down the highway.

1
Pull into the filling area. Turn off the RV.
-
2
Go outside and unscrew the water tank cap. If unsure of its location, consult your RV's user manual.
-
-
3
Slide the hose into the tank tube, much like you would do when filling an auto tank with the gas nozzle.
-
4
Pump the water into the tank. If your tank has a full level gauge, assign someone to monitor the water level as it fills. Once the water level is above 95 percent full, slow the water flow down and continue to pump until the tank is at the full level.

5
Screw the water tank cap back into position.
