Determine where you are flying to, how many people you are flying with and how long you will be staying at your destination. before you contact a company to rent a private plane.
Contact the local F.B.O (fixed base operator) in your local area. This may be a small airport or large international airport with several charter companies to choose from. You can visit in person or call them on the phone.
Log on to the Internet and search for private charter flights if you don't want to visit your local F.B.O to find a charter company. Many companies online may not have a base at your local airport, but can shuttle the plane there for your traveling purposes.
Detail to the charter operator your flight plan, the number of people you are taking and whether you will need catering. Ask the operator how the crew will be fed and housed during your trip. You may be responsible for this expense. Inquire about fuel charges and how they are handled. Is the price of fuel included in this price or do you have to pay it up front?
Compare the prices from various companies to see who has the better price and the most convenient schedule. Try to compare at least three to four companies to get an idea of what you should be paying for your trip.
