NYC Subway: A Train Does Not Go 34th St → Queens; Take E, F, or R

The A train does not serve 34th Street stations. At 34th St, the following lines stop:

• 34th St–Herald Sq: B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W (6th Ave & Broadway lines).
• 34th St–Penn Station: 1, 2, 3 (7th Ave line) + A, C, E (8th Ave line) — but this is 34th St–8th Ave, not Herald Sq.

To Queens from Midtown

• E train (8th Ave local): 34th St–Penn → Queens Plaza → Jamaica Center / World's Fair.
• F train (6th Ave local): 34th St–Herald Sq → Queensbridge → Jamaica–179 St.
• R train (Broadway local): 34th St–Herald Sq → Queens Plaza → Forest Hills–71 Av.
• 7 train (Flushing local): Times Sq–42 St (walk/transfer) → Flushing–Main St.

Why Not A?

A runs 8th Ave express (207 St → Lefferts Blvd / Rockaway Park). It stops at 34th St–Penn (8th Ave) but does not cross into Queens—it turns east at 59 St–Columbus Circle? No, A goes downtown to Brooklyn. From 34th St–Penn, A goes south (Chambers, Brooklyn). To reach Queens on 8th Ave line, take E (local).
