Where is Nearctic?
The Nearctic realm is the northernmost of the three major biogeographic realms, and it includes North America north of Mexico, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Covering almost 22,000,000 square kilometres (8,500,000 sq mi) and stretching almost 6,700 kilometres (4,200 mi) north to south, the Nearctic is the second largest realm after the Afrotropic and the fourth most populous, with about 500 million people.
*The Nearctic realm* is bordered to the south by the Neotropic, to the west by the Pacific Ocean, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the north by the Arctic Ocean.
*The Nearctic realm* is divided into four ecozones: the Tundra ecozone, the Temperate ecozone, the Mediterranean ecozone, and the Deserts ecozone.
