Plan your trip itinerary. Rail passes serve limited regions, so you will need know where you will be departing from before heading to Edinburgh. Determine what your budget will be for the trip. Rail Europe sells passes for different accommodations: first class, second class, no assigned seat or sleeper. Each of these vary in price.

Review the pass options to see what best fits your itinerary and price range. Examples of choices range from three-day travel to be used in one week. starting at $80, to one-month passes that cost about $1,100.
