  1. Book Your Train Travel From Shanghai to Xi'an

      Visit the China Trip Advisor Web site (see Resources below). You may also call 011 (+86) (559) 231 9660.

      Click on "Train Tickets" from the top menu, then click on the link for "Departing from Shanghai" from the left or the center of the page. Finally, click on "Shanghai--Xi'an Time Table" to bring up a list of available trains departing from the Shanghai Railway Station to the Xi'an Railway Station.

      Fill out the train reservation request form at the bottom of this same page. Make sure to provide complete and accurate information. Note that any field with an '*' next to it indicates required information to complete your request.

      Check your email regularly after making your reservation request. You should receive a booking form from the China Trip Advisor staff within 24 hours.

    Know a Few Things About Your Destination

      Be prepared by bringing a small fork and knife with you when dining out if you aren't adept at using chopsticks. While most eateries are happy to supply cutlery as an alternative, some more tradtional restaurants won't have any.

      Be aware that although some dishes on a menu may be classified as vegetarian, they may contain seafood not considered to be meat by Chinese standards.
