Mallow, also known as the "Crossroads of Munster," is the capital of County Cork, Ireland. This 16th century farmer's market town is known for its numerous medieval buildings that dot the landscape, making train travel to Mallow a popular route to take.
Remember that the Dublin Heuston train station was originally named the Kingsbridge Station when it opened in 1844 and some Dubliner's still refer to it as such.
Arrive early at the Dublin Heuston station and you won't go hungry on the ride to Mallow. Sample some Curry and Cheese chips, a Chicken Ciabatta, or a plain burger or slice of pizza at Supermac's, just one of the eateries you'll find at the station.
Pick up a newspaper or magazine to read on the train at one of two Eason & Son stationary stores located at the Dublin Heuston station.
Plan to start your trip from Dublin to Mallow via the Dublin Connolly or Dublin Heuston train stations.
Know that only the station at Dublin Heuston offers non-stop accommodations to Mallow. Traveling from the Dublin Connolly station will require a bus or taxi to Dublin Heuston, or a ride on the Luas rail which connects both stations.
