Know that there are 3 main train stations in Dublin: Heuston Station, Connolly Station and Tara Street Station. The Heuston and Connolly Stations are the ones from which trains to Sligo depart.
Determine how you will travel to either the Dublin Connolly train station or the Dublin Heuston train station where you will connect with an Intercity train to Sligo. The stations are only 2 miles from each other, so travel by car, bus, the electric DART system, or the ARROW Dublin Suburban services are all possible options.
Use the Irish Rail Web site to book your train travel to Sligo via the ARROW service if boarding from Dublin Connelly (see Resources). This route is direct with an approximate travel time of 3 hours and 5 minutes.
Book your train passage to Sligo on the Irish Rail Web site using a combination of Bus/Luas and railcar if departing from the Dublin Heuston station. Note that traveling from this station will require an interchange to Dublin Connelly to board a train to Sligo.
