Proper Charging for the Currie Scooter

Currie Technologies makes hybrid electric bicycles and scooters. Currie offers both chain and direct drive scooters. Both types of scooters use sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries and come with their own charger.
  1. How Often

    • The battery must be charged before the first ride and after every subsequent ride. Charging time varies from six to 10 hours. When not in use, the battery must be charged every 30 days.

    Charging

    • All Currie scooters come with an Electro-Drive Smart Charger. This is the only charger that may be used. Turn the power switch off. Open the charger port cover, located just below the power switch. Insert the charger's XLR plug into the port on the scooter. Plug the charger into an 110V AC outlet. The charger light comes on when charging is complete. Unplug the charger from the outlet and remove it from the scooter.

    Prolonging Battery Life

    • Always charge the battery fully after each use. Do not charge the battery for more than 24 hours. Do not let the battery freeze and do not store it at a temperature lower than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure the scooter is turned off after each use.
