How Can I Track My EMS Package From Costa Rica to the United States?

The Universal Postal Union (UPU), an intergovermental cooperative with 191 member agencies, offers an international express mail service (EMS). Formed in 1998, the EMS cooperative is a sub-organization of the UPU that seeks to provide an efficient, competitive, global EMS with a high level of quality. The postal agencies that comprise the UPU provide traceable, priority shipping for commercial and personal documents or packages.

  Choose an online EMS tracking service and the language in which you would like to see the information displayed. The Costa Rican government's tracking site offers details in both Spanish and English.

  Navigate to the website's tracking screen. Enter your 13-digit EMS tracking number into the appropriate box, and click the "Track,'" "Go," "'Consultar" or equivalent button. The most recent status of your EMS package will show up immediately.

  Choose your level of service. In most instances, basic tracking services are free. However, in some cases, sites such as track-trace.com offer the option of paying for a subscription to more advanced services providing more sophisticated options for tracking your EMS.
