Camping Grounds in Frisco, Texas

Frisco, Texas, takes its name from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad, otherwise known as the Frisco line, which built tracks through the region and led to the founding of the city in 1902. But the area was well-traveled long before that via the famed Shawnee Trail, to which the city pays homage with a series of bronze sculptures that include cattle drives, cowboys and a chuck wagon. One of the Longhorn State's fastest-growing cities, Frisco today is home to attractions such as the Texas Sculpture Garden, Frisco Heritage Museum, FC Dallas professional soccer and Frisco RoughRiders minor-league baseball. Though no campgrounds are in the city limits, numerous camping options are within a half-hour drive.
