Family Cabin Camping in Central Texas

The cabins are located on a lake in the park and provide rustic accommodations for two to six people just steps away from hiking trails through the park. Cabins have air conditioning, bathrooms, microwave ovens and indoor kitchen facilities, as well as an outside grill. Visitors must bring kitchen utensils and pans, but linens and towels are provided. No pets are allowed inside the cabins or in the surrounding outside area. Cabins range from $80 per night for a two-person cabin to $200 per night for a two-bedroom cabin that sleeps six people.

    La Hacienda RV Resort

    • Located in Austin, La Hacienda RV Resort has several fully furnished cabins for rent that accommodate four to eight people. The cabins are a few minutes away from Lake Travis, a popular family destination in the Hill Country for water recreation. In addition to access to the pool and hot tub, the cabins have cable television, wireless Internet access and air-conditioning. Cabins can be rented by the night for $115 to $150, by the week at rates of $575 to $750 and by the month for $1,225 to $1,500 plus electricity.

    • This RV park is located along the San Marcos River about 30 miles south of Austin. Families can rent fully furnished cabins that sleep up to six people and have full kitchens and flat-screen televisions. Cabins have porches with rocking chairs that look out at pecan trees on the banks of the river. The park has a pool, Frisbee disc golf course, playground, and beach volleyball and basketball courts. Nightly rates start at $125 per night on weekends, with a 20 percent discount on weeknights.

    Willow Point Resort

    • Willow Point Resort offers several lakefront log cabins to rent along Lake Buchanan between Llano and Burnet. The fully furnished cabins accommodate up to six people in a separate bedroom, living room and open lofts. The cabins have full kitchens and bathrooms inside, and outside include porches, grills and picnic tables overlooking the water. On the premises are campfire sites, lake swimming areas and free canoes. Rates for the cabins start at $145 per night for two people, with an extra $15 per night per additional person. Children three years old or younger are free.

    River Oaks Lodge

    • On a quiet cove of Lake LBJ northwest of Marble Falls, River Oaks Lodge has several furnished cabins with bathrooms and full kitchens. The cabins sleep four to eight people. The lodge includes a lake swimming area, a fishing house and picnic areas. The lake area in front of the cabins is in a "no wake" zone, so the water is calmer than in more populated areas.
