Bastrop State Park, located about 30 miles east of Austin, has several cabins available for rent amid the pine trees in the 6,000-acre park. The cabins are located on a lake in the park and provide rustic accommodations for two to six people just steps away from hiking trails through the park. Cabins have air conditioning, bathrooms, microwave ovens and indoor kitchen facilities, as well as an outside grill. Visitors must bring kitchen utensils and pans, but linens and towels are provided. No pets are allowed inside the cabins or in the surrounding outside area. Cabins range from $80 per night for a two-person cabin to $200 per night for a two-bedroom cabin that sleeps six people.

The cabins are a few minutes away from Lake Travis, a popular family destination in the Hill Country for water recreation. On a quiet cove of Lake LBJ northwest of Marble Falls, River Oaks Lodge has several furnished cabins with bathrooms and full kitchens. The cabins sleep four to eight people.
