Highbanks Marina & Camp Resort is a 25-acre campground located on the St Johns River just eight miles from downtown Sanford. Blue Springs State Park is a 2,600-acre state park on the St. Johns River 12 miles north of Sanford. The park has partial hookup campsites that include a picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit. The campground is located in a pine scrub forest and is less than a half mile from the river. Park amenities include restrooms with private showers, a concession stand and two picnic pavilions, along with six rental cabins. Recreational amenities include hiking trails and canoeing on the river. Guest dining options include Pier 16 Seafood and Gram's Kitchen, both within two miles of the park.
