Boutique Hotels Near Aledo, IL

Aledo -- a suburb of Davenport, Iowa -- is one of the numerous small towns that pepper the border between Illinois and Iowa. Although the chain motels and small inns that may be found in these towns do not offer boutique-style services, some of the larger hotels 20 or 30 miles outside of Aledo do.
  1. Hotel Blackhawk

    • Hotel Blackhawk, located in downtown Davenport, was built in 1915. It has since been largely remodeled, though a turn-of-the-century style has been incorporated into the hotel's now contemporary aesthetic. The entire hotel, including the guest rooms, lobby and hallways, adheres to a sharp, clean color scheme of black, white, cream and mahogany. Each guest room includes a flat-screen HDTV, signature bath amenities, mini-bar and in-room dining. Also on site is a bowling alley, indoor heated swimming pool, sun deck, salon, florist and sundries shop.

    Hotel Baker

    • Located on the river side of downtown St. Charles, the Hotel Baker is a luxury hotel with 53 guest rooms, including penthouses and spa suites. Each room sports a rich brown color palette, and is adorned with vintage furniture and decoration. All rooms include upscale amenities, from flat-screen TVs to whirlpool tubs. The hotel's on-site restaurant, ROX City Grill, serves wine, cocktails and grilled seafood and steak. Live music plays at the grill every Thursday through Saturday night.

    • The Mark Twain Hotel is a nine-story hotel located in Peoria, Illinois. The rooms in the Mark Twain -- there are over 100 of them -- are adorned with contemporary decorations and soft lighting. Each room comes with high-end amenities, including surround-sound speakers, DVD library and boutique bed and bath amenities. Also on site is the Two25 restaurant, which serves steaks, pasta, pizza and burgers. Complimentary breakfast is served to Mark Twain's guests every morning at the hotel's on-location cafe, Daybreak.

    • The Hotel Vetro is a large, upscale hotel situated in downtown Iowa City. A sleek, smart style is incorporated into the decor throughout hotel, with clean lines and bold colors. Each guest room contains such amenities as plasma TV, fully-equipped kitchen and sweeping view of the city's downtown area. On the ground floor of the Hotel Vetro is the restaurant Formosa, which serves Asian cuisine. Also on location is a large recreation center and a heated indoor pool.
