Ridgway is located on the San Juan Skyway, midway between Montrose and Telluride, Colorado. The area is a draw for skiers, and Ridgway State Park and Reservoir offers ample boating and hiking opportunities in the summer.
The San Juan Skyway is one of the United State's six "All American Roads" due to its outstanding scenery. The highway coarses through 233 miles of mountain vistas, resorts, mining towns and Mesa Verde National Park. (See Reference 1)
The Chipeta Sun Lodge in Ridgway offers adobe-style lodging with with private hot tubs and patios. The Ridgway Lodge and Suites, a Magnuson Hotel, is located 17 miles north of the Ouray Hot Springs and 40 miles from Telluride Ski Resort. The lodge provides guests with wireless Internet, a heated, indoor pool, an exercise room, sauna, and breakfast served between 6 and 9 a.m. daily. There is also parking for large recreational vehicles and trucks, a guest laundry, 24-hour desk service, and a fax and copy service. Small pets are permitted for a fee.
