Horse Hotels in Colorado

Thousands of miles of horse riding trails run through the Colorado Rockies, which makes it no surprise that a lot of people own horses throughout the state. If you are passing through and need a place to board your horse for a few nights, try a horse hotel. These provide your horse with a stable to sleep in along food and an area to exercise. Many of them also provide a room and meal for the horse's owner as well.

  1. H2 Stables Horse Motel and Bed and Breakfast

    • The H2 Stables Horse Motel and Bed and Breakfast is located 47 miles from Denver and 11 miles from Colorado Springs. It is a 40-acre stable a few minutes away from the Air Force Academy. The stable has 12-by-12-foot stalls. The owners provide grass hay as food and wood shavings as bedding for the horses. They also tour horses in private paddocks or in a small pasture area during the summer season for exercise. Also available for the horses are a large indoor arena, an outdoor arena and a round pen. The H2 Stables Horse Motel and Bed and Breakfast can provide accommodation for the horse owner as well. They provide a hot, gourmet breakfast and a snack in the afternoon for humans. In 2011, room rates cost $75 per night and rooms with spacious and private bath are available at $85 per night. Breakfast and snack is included in the room rental. Stalls for the horses are offered at $25 per night and the camper electric hook-up is $8 per night.

    Craig Ranch Bed and Breakfast and Horse Motel

    • The Craig Ranch provides shelter for both the horse owner and the horse on a 15,000 acre ranch, three miles from Interstate 70 near Limon, Colorado. The Craig Ranch offers overnight boarding for horses in pipe corals. Each corral has an attached dirt floor wall with dimensions of 12-by-17 feet. They also have outdoor shed pens with runs and an indoor arena. The indoor arena is built with four panel stalls inside. The ranch provides mountain grass hay as food and wood chip bedding for the horses. The mountain grass hay is offered at $10 per bale and the wood chip bundle is available at $10.49 per bundle. The Craig Ranch also offers rooms for the owner at $75 to $90 per night, as of January 2011.

    Greenhorn Horse Hotel

    • The Greenhorn Horse Hotel is approximately 20 miles south of Pueblo, Colorado. It has a barn with four 12-by-12-foot guest stalls for the horses with 30-foot runs. It also has two 12-by-42-foot secure pens and a 40-foot round pen. Vet services are available to the facility as well. The Greenhouse Horse Hotel is open 24 hours daily for stabling needs. Stalls are rented at $20 per night, as of 2011, but discounts are offered to multiple guests or for extended stays. The trailer/RV hookup is $20 per night also, but the fee can be reduced to $15 per night if you board a horse as well.

    Heart of the Rockies Bed and Barn

    • The Heart of the Rockies Bed and Barn is a horse hotel and a bed and breakfast located 10 acres north of 1-70 in Silt, Colorado. This bed and barn has three covered stalls as horse accommodations, two round pins and 10 acres of divided pasture with a pond. It also has an outdoor regulation-size arena for the horses. The horse boarding fee is from $15 to $25 per night, as of 2011, and rooms are available for the horse owners, as well. Guest rooms are offered at $80 to $95 per night. Horse owners can enjoy hiking, fishing, ice climbing, and even hunting while the horses enjoy the barn facilities.
