Freeburg, Illinois, is a small town located to the southeast of the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. The population of Freeburg was estimated to exceed 4,500 people in 2009. The town is located between several fishing and boating opportunities. It is considered to be a bedroom community for St. Louis commuters at a distance of about 25 miles from downtown.
