Kinsman, located in extreme northeastern Ohio, is situated in the heart of the region's Amish country and resort lake district. A town of around 2000 residents according to the 2000 US Census Report, Kinsman is located about two miles from the Ohio/Pennsylvania state line. The town has one hotel, and one bed and breakfast inn within the town limits, as well as a state park lodge nearby.

Pymatuning State Park, located about 12 miles from Kinsman, sits on the western shore of the Pymatuning Reservoir. The park, which is situated at the Ohio/Pennsylvania state line, offers a myriad of outdoor activities, include hiking, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing and ice skating. The park features 59 cottages that are open year-round, 26 of which sleep up to six persons. There's also a premium cottage that has a spa tub and central air-conditioning. All units have cable TV and outdoor grills, and wireless Internet access is available to guests at the camp office.
Located about ten miles from Kinsman, across the state line in Pennsylvania, the Fairfield Inn and Suites offers modern, streamlined accommodations within easy access of US 422 and I-79.
