Motels near Stoughton, WI

Stoughton, Wisconsin, located southeast of Madison, offers visitors a wide-range of attractions including outdoor activities such as disc golf, swimming, ice skating, cross-country skiing, golf and snowmobiling. For visitors less inclined to outdoor recreations, Stoughton offers an opera house and museum. The original settlers were Norwegian, and each May the town celebrates the Norwegian Constitution Day during the "Syttende Mai" celebration. The town has limited lodging options, but several motels are near Stoughton.

    Altemus Corners House Bed & Breakfast Inn

    • Nickolas Altemus III built Stoughton's Altemus Corners House Bed & Breakfast Inn in 1870s to serve as a farm house for his family. The house stayed in the family and is currently owned by the builder's granddaughter, who remodeled it as a bed and breakfast. The house's furnishing remains true to the 1870s and features antiques in every room. Room rates range from $50 to $110 as of 2011.

    Sleep Inn & Suites

    • The Sleep Inn and Suites is 12 miles away from Stoughton in Madison. It's near Highway 51, the main street that runs through Stoughton, which makes it one of the easiest motels to reach. The highway also skirts the outside of Madison, so you won't need to fight Madison's traffic to get there. Besides being close to Stoughton, the Inn is near several of Madison's attractions, such as the Alliant Energy Center and the Monona Terrace -- both host large events. Amenities include a free breakfast, an indoor pool, free Wi-Fi, an exercise room and video game room. Pets can stay for an additional charge.

    Country Inn & Suites

    • The Country Inn and Suites in Madison is only 13 miles away from Stoughton. To get there from Stoughton, head north on Highway 51 until you get to East Broadway, then turn left until you see the Inn. This route keeps you off the busy Beltline and out of the Madison traffic. Behind the Inn, a small bay leads to Upper Mud Lake and eventually Lake Kegonsa, which is in Stoughton, so adventurous visitors could get to Stoughton by water. Motel amenities include high-speed Internet, an indoor pool and a fitness center.
