Brookeland is located on the shores of Lake Sam Rayburn in eastern Texas near the Louisiana border. There are only a few small independent motels in Brookeland and its environs, but there are plenty of hotels to choose from in the town of Jasper, Texas about 16.5 miles to the south along route 96.
The Bass Buster Inn is a fisherman's inn in Brookeland which occupies a two-story building with external hallways located near the Umphrey Pavilion Boat Ramp about 3/4 miles away. If you are not the fishing type you can try the nearby hiking trails located throughout Angelina National Forest.
