Named after Ella Burton, the daughter of the man who sold the town its land, Ellaville is the county seat of Schley County. The courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a small town located at the intersection of Georgia Highway 26 and US 19, near the larger towns of Buena Vista and Americus.
