St. Croix Pet Friendly Hotels

St. Croix is one of the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean Sea. Travelers will enjoy the white sand beaches and glistening, crystal waters. Pets may enjoy these activities too but only on private beaches. The Palms at Pelican Cove and Sun Dog House are pet friendly. Other establishments accept pets on a case-by-case basis. St. Croix does not allow pet snakes onto the island.

  1. The Palms at Pelican Cove

    • Dogs can sunbathe on the beach at the Palms at Pelican Cove.

      Pets are always welcome at the Palms at Pelican Cove. A basket of gourmet dog treats is offered to each guest arriving with a dog. Guests may visit the hotel's beach, local sugar mills in the area and the tropical rainforest with their pet. The hotel offers a restaurant, beach and freshwater pool for guests, as well as access to the business lounge and complimentary snorkel gear. A book exchange is available for avid readers. Wedding packages are also available to happy pet owners who have found lasting love.

    Hibiscus Beach Resort

    • Pet snakes aren't welcome on the island of St. Croix.

      The Hibiscus Beach Resort is located minutes from the city of Christiansted on Pelican Cove beach. On-beach yoga is available for guests along with free Internet, complimentary towels, chaise lounges and beach hammocks. Pets are accepted at the Hibiscus Beach Resort on a case-by-case basis. Call the manager to ask about your pet before making reservations. Guests can walk their pets through the town for shopping, although not all stores will allow pets inside. Seaworthy dogs and cats can also go sailing on any number of charter boats available.

    Sun Dog House

    • Sun Dog House doubles as a dog rescue center.

      Sun Dog House is a villa that allows travelers to both bring their pet and support rescued dogs, which remain on the property. The house is solar powered, and each room has a private bathroom. Pets can accompany guests while snorkeling off the island. Guests visiting Salt River Ecological Preserve or Sandy Point National Wildlife Preserve may also take their dogs along, provided they remain on a leash at all times.

    Discovery Grove

    • Dogs must have a good reputation of interacting with other animals to stay at Discovery Grove.

      Discovery Grove is an eco-retreat resort. Guests can explore mango trees and bamboo stands as well as immerse themselves in a marine biology and ecology programs. Dogs are welcome on a limited basis. When making reservations, make sure to provide evidence of the dog's breed, shot records and behavioral history before booking. The owners keep a dog on-site and ask that all pet guests be well-behaved, dog and animal friendly and up-to-date on their shots. Pets may accompany owners on walking trails, snorkeling trips to Buck Island and movie nights under the stars.
