Gravesville is a small town located in a rural area in central New York State, approximately 15 minutes to the northwest of Utica. It is not located along a heavily-traveled highway and has no hotels in town. Lodging is available in a couple of small towns within 10 miles as well as in Utica. The Best Western Gateway Adirondack Inn can be found 15 miles to the southwest from Gravesville in the city of Utica. Located within one mile of the hotel are the Stanley Theater, the Adirondack Railroad and a brewery. The Utica Zoo and Utica College are both within four miles. The Best Western provides guests with a free breakfast and has a fitness center. A steakhouse is located adjacent to the hotel, while a restaurant with a grill is practically next door. The Sangertown Mall can be reached in six miles.

The Utica Children's Museum is nearby, while the Adirondack Railroad , the Munson-Williams Art Museum, the Stanley Performing Arts Center, the FX Matt Brewery and the Utica Zoo are all within one mile.
