Hotels north of Shenandoah, Virginia

Shenandoah, Virginia is located near Shenandoah National Park in the western part of the state. Small towns are scattered throughout the area, offering shopping, sightseeing and dining. Shenandoah is also close to several area wineries. Golfing, hiking and skiing are also available in season. Many hotels are located north of the town of Shenandoah.

    • Within the boundaries of Shenandoah National Park, Big Meadows Lodge is situated in a meadow that is frequented by deer. The lodge was built in 1939 and is open seasonally from mid-May to early November. Guests can dine in the Spottswood Dining Room or the New Market Taproom. Typical hotel rooms, as well as log cabins, are available for guests. The New Market Taproom also offers entertainment for the whole family each night.

    Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley

    • The Quality Inn north of Shenandoah in the Shenandoah Valley is easily accessed by Interstate 81. The hotel is close to the Hall of Valor Civil War Museum. Guests can dine in the hotel's Johnny Appleseed Restaurant. Several of Virginia's caverns are within driving distance of the hotel, as is Shenandoah Vineyards. A seasonal pool, high-speed Internet access and a fitness center are also available to guests. The hotel also has a gift shop and playground.

    River's Bend Ranch

    • Nestled in George Washington National Forest north of Shenandoah, River's Bend Ranch offers cabins on a working horse and cattle ranch. Along with the accommodations, trail rides are offered from March through mid-November. Hiking trails can also be found on the ranch's 350 acres, and fishing for small-mouth bass is available in the Shenandoah River. Special package deals can be purchased.

    Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast

    • Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast is located north of Shenandoah on two acres of land. Guests can choose from a room in the bed and breakfast or they can rent the Rosebud Cottage. The bed and breakfast sits on a hilltop, offering views of the surrounding Virginia countryside. Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park are all close. A full country-style breakfast is served each morning. The bed and breakfast also offers a selection of movies, a whirlpool open year-round and a licensed masseuse.
