Established in 1887, Lavallette is a small family-friendly seaside town on the Barnegat peninsula of the famed Jersey Shore. Lavallette features two bayside beaches in addition to the Atlantic Ocean beach. Ocean beachgoers ages 12 and older must purchase a beach badge and display it while on the beach. While visiting, walk along Bay Boulevard, play "Bocce by the Bay," go crabbing or walk along the boardwalk overlooking the beach. The area has several motels from which visitors can choose.
The Lamplight Motel is located just one block from the beach and close to area restaurants. Its 22 rooms feature either one queen-sized bed or two full-sized beds, along with private bathrooms, individual climate control and cable television. The Lamplight is 100 percent smoke-free and offers complimentary coffee, tea and cappuccino in the lobby. Take a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool or get some sun on one of the hotel's two sundecks.
Tradewinds Motor Lodge is located near Barnegat Bay and the white sandy beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. The motel is within walking distance to area restaurants, laundry facilities and a playground. Each of the 45 rooms are smoke-free and feature individual climate control, two full-sized beds, daily maid service, private bathrooms, two beach badges and free parking for one car per room. Tradewinds Motor Lodge does not have in-room phone service and does not allow pets.
Hershey Motel is a 5-minute drive, less than two miles south of Lavallette in Seaside Heights. The motel has 115 units and is situated on two acres of land, just one block from the boardwalk and beach. It is also close to restaurants, nightclubs and outdoor recreation. The motel serves a complimentary full breakfast from July through Labor Day and features an onsite restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take a swim in the motel's heated outdoor pool while the children take a dip in the kid's pool. Parking for one car is available for each room.
