The eastern region of Florida provides tourists with opportunities for surfing and sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, while hiking and wildlife observation activities are available at Ocala National Forest and Canaveral National Seashore.   1. Jacksonville

    • Jacksonville is in the northeast region of the state, approximately an hour south of the Florida-Georgia border.
