Hotels near Brusly, Louisiana

Brusly, Louisiana is a small town on the west side of the Mississippi, and is the oldest settlement in West Baton Rouge. A quick trip from Brusly on Interstate 10 across the river will take you directly into Baton Rouge. While there are no hotels directly in Brusly, there are several accommodation options nearby.

  1. Comfort Suites

    • The Comfort Suites are located 12 minutes to the north of Brusly in Port Allen, Louisiana. Rooms have all of the standard amenities, and some rooms feature whirlpool bathtubs. Restaurants close to the hotel include KFC, McDonald’s and Shoney’s. Comfort Suites is located just off Interstate 10, and is only four miles from Louisiana State University. There are also several casinos located nearby, with Love’s Casino only one mile from the hotel. As of January 2011, rates range from $75 to $105.

    Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center

    • The Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center is located only 15 minutes from Brusly in downtown Baton Rouge. Formerly known as the historic Heidelberg and Capital House Hotel, the Hilton has undergone $70 million in renovations to restore the hotel to its former grandeur. The third-floor pool and garden deck overlooks the Mississippi River. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to anywhere within a five-mile radius of the hotel, and it is less than five minutes from the Louisiana state capital. The Kingfish is the Hilton’s on-site restaurant, which serves steak and local Cajun cuisine. There is also a small coffee shop in the lobby. The Shaw Center for the Arts, which houses the LSU Museum of Art and a rooftop sushi bar, is across the street, and there are many other restaurants in the downtown area. Nightly rates range from $189 to $289, as of January 2011.

    Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel

    • The Belle of Baton Rouge is a full-service hotel and casino located 14 minutes from Brusly. The hotel is within walking distance of the Baton Rouge River Center, which holds a variety of entertainment events, including concerts, Broadway musicals, plays and ballet performance. Club room levels are available, and all rooms have either a view of downtown Baton Rouge or the Mississippi River. The casino features both table games and slot machines, and there are three restaurants on-site, including Shucks on the Levee, which features steak and seafood. The Butler’s Pantry (also on-site) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Weekend rates range from $139 to $164 per night, while weekday rates range from $159 to $184, as of January 2011.

    The Cook Hotel

    • The Cook Hotel is located on the campus of LSU, and is 15 minutes from Brusly. In addition to regular guest rooms, the hotel has luxury suites which have a separate living area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Signature suites are also available, which include fully- equipped kitchens with marble floors, fire places in the living room, and two bathrooms, with a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. For a unique experience, stay in the Shaquille O’Neal Suite, which is decorated with Shaq’s LSU signed jersey and a custom 7-foot long bed. The hotel serves a complimentary Southern-style breakfast buffet every morning, and there are several restaurants near campus, including The Chimes, which serves New Orleans-style specialties, and Reginelli’s Pizzeria, which delivers to the hotel. Local attractions include the Jack and Priscilla Andonie Museum, which is adjacent to the Cook Hotel and contains over 13,000 pieces of LSU Sports memorabilia. Rates range from $99 for a deluxe guest room to $239 for a signature suite, as of January 2011.
