Sarasota is on Sarasota Bay in the southwestern part of Florida, off the Gulf of Mexico. Sarasota Bay includes two small islands -- Lido Key and Siesta Key. This area of Florida is best known for its sandy beaches and culture, as well as shopping and restaurants.
