Waitsfield, Vermont, is a small ski town 30 minutes from the capital city of Montpelier. This town is near the slopes at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski resorts.

The circular barn is still attached to the inn and is used for wedding receptions and parties. The inn is about 30 to 50 minutes from the ski resorts and 25 minutes from the Country Club of Vermont golf course.
The innkeepers at the Mountain View Inn live onsite with their three sons. The furniture and decorations are antique. The Mountain View Inn is close to the ski resorts. Sugarbush's Mount Ellen ski resort is one mile away while Mad River Glen and Sugarbush's South Basin are three miles away. Cross-country skiing trails are located directly behind the inn.
