Hotels With Children Activities in Montego Bay

Many hotels and resorts dotting the coastline of Montego Bay on the northwestern coast of Jamaica feature activities for children. Montego is called the “Second City in Jamaica,” as its the second largest city. It is a popular Caribbean tourist destination for its many all-inclusive resorts, including those for traveling families. Many of Montego Bay’s resorts and hotels occupy former sugar cane plantations.

  1. Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay

    • Children 12 and under visiting the all-inclusive Holiday Inn SunSpreeResort Montego Bay with their family “stay, play and eat free,” according to the hotel’s website. It has a supervised children’s club called the Kidspree Vacation Club open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Children from 6 months to 3 years attend “Granny’s Nursery,” those 4 to 7 years old are ready for the “Adventurers,” and kids 8 to 12 years old are welcome at the “Wonder Years.” The hotel’s children’s activities include a playground, jungle gyms and slides in a fenced playground, along with swimming pools and beaches. Older kids can enjoy a game room, pool tables, shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball, miniature golf and a splash pad.

    Half Moon

    • Half Moon features many activities for children and their families to do together, such as Anancy Children’s Village for children ages 3 to 12. The village is inspired by Jamaica’s “fabled children’s character Anancy the Spider,” according to the hotel’s website. The play area has a “model Caribbean village.” Half Moon charges extra for children to attend Anancy village, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Half Moon welcomes children to the hotel with its “Very Important Little Person Service,” which includes a special gift, welcome drink, activity schedule and introduction to the child care staff. For another additional fee, families can attend Dolphin Lagoon, where they can interact with the marine mammals. Teens can attend “The Hype Zone,” which includes tennis, volleyball, hiking, squash, golf, horseback riding, biking and water sports. Nannies are also available.

    Sunset Beach Resort and Spa

    • The all-inclusive Sunset Beach Resort and Spa features many activities for kids and teens, including the Pirates’ Paradise Water Park, which features waterslides and rides. The hotel also includes Club Mongoose, especially for children ages 2 to 12. The 22-acre resort also has the Pirates’ Cove Teen Center for teens. Children can also take tennis lessons and play miniature golf.

    Royal Decameron Montego Beach

    • The all-inclusive Royal Decameron Montego Beach has a supervised kids’ club, two outdoor swimming pools, sea trampoline and beach access. Kids can participate in an extra for-cost excursion with their families called Dolphin Cove, in which they can interact with dolphins in waist-deep water. Sports activities available to children at the hotel include volleyball and shuffleboard.
