Named after its founder, real estate developer Alonzo Erastus Horton, Hortonville is a small village located in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. Although it has no hotels, Hortonville belongs to the Appleton-Oshkosh-Neenah Combined Statistical Area. Thus travelers or visitors can find short-term lodging in the surrounding area while still taking advantage of what Hortonville has to offer, including Black Otter Lake, the only public access lake in the entire county.
Neenah, a city that is about 18 miles away from Hortonville, has a Best Western hotel. Part of the world's largest hotel chain, this location offers three floors comprised of 95 rooms, with five of them designated for the physically challenged. Best Western Bridgewood also has a restaurant, a golf course and a fitness center. The hotel has a three-diamond rating from the American Automobile Association's hotel rating system.
A little closer to Hortonville is the city of Appleton, about 14 miles away. As part of the WISCO Hotels chain, the Comfort Suites Appleton Airport Hotel, as indicated by its name, markets itself as an easy-access center for Outagamie County Regional Airport. Comfort Suites Appleton offers a variety of rooms, numbering 130, under its Standard Suite and Deluxe Suite designations. Customers can take advantage of the Comfort Dome, a resplendent 10,000-square-foot recreation center that includes an indoor pool, game room, sauna and fitness center.
Comfort Suites does not hold a monopoly in the hotel market of Appleton, as it has some competition from only a mile away. Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, the Holiday Inn Appleton Wisconsin Hotel offers lodging that include Executive Floor accommodations for business travelers and two-room Family Suites for families on a casual trip. Also, Holiday Inn Appleton offers discounted rates for groups of people that occupy 10 or more rooms.
