L'Anse is a small village located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, sharing Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior with the neighboring village of Baraga. Attractions in L'Anse include the Huron Mountains, which is home to Mount Arvon, the highest point in Michigan. Snowmobilers who stay at the Hilltop during the first and last night of a trip can park their trailer and truck for free during the rest of the trip.

This motel is nine miles from the Sturgeon Falls Trail, a rugged region where the Sturgeon River carved mile-wide gorges into the earth. Hikers are advised to bring proper gear due to the terrain and remote location.

From the hotel, you can see sweeping views of Lake Superior and the Bishop Baraga Shrine. The Best Western is located on US-41 and is close to banks, the Ojibwa Casino and Larry's Market, a local grocery store. Another nearby attraction is the Sand Point Lighthouse, just two miles north of the hotel. This lighthouse is owned by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. The grounds are open to visitors but the interior of the lighthouse is closed.
The Ojibwa Casino Hotel is located on the outskirts of Baraga on M-38, just three miles from the Relatively North Skydiving Club. This club provides training to individuals interested in skydiving. The Ojibwa Casino Hotel gives you direct access to the casino and a variety of ongoing events, including comedy shows, concerts and bingo nights. The casino swimming pool is open to the public on Sundays.
