Liberty is one of the largest suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri. Located 10 miles to the northeast of downtown Kansas City, Liberty is the home of William Jewell Liberal Arts College. The city is not known for its tourism, but it leaves guests well-situated to explore the sights and sounds of Kansas City, Watkins Mill State Park and the countryside that surrounds Smithville Lake. A handful of cheap hotels are available in the city of Liberty, the majority of which are chain economy accommodations.
As of October 2010, guest rooms at the Super 8 in Liberty are available from $51 per night. Guests are welcome to bring their pets for their stay at the Super 8. The hotel is elegantly decorated, with original fireplaces intact and a large, relaxing porch area out front. While guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast, no other meals are served. Visitors can enjoy a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, including Ginger Sue's Diner, Los Compas Mexican Restaurant and Corbin Mill Place, which are all within 5 minutes' walk.
