According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Las Vegas attracts more than 37 million people each year. Casinos located on the Las Vegas strip do what they can to get as many of those visitors as possible, including offering free attractions to entertain guests. These free attractions offered by Las Vegas hotels include shows, animal exhibits and trams that ferry guests between hotels.
Located in the middle of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. near Sands Ave., Treasure Island hotel offers a free show called Sirens of TI which runs every hour and a half from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and features live music and dancing staged on a pirate ship. The hotel commissioned motorcycle company Metropolitan Choppers to create a motorcycle celebrating the show called the Sirens Chopper. The chopper sits on display in the lobby of the hotel and features elements of sirens and sea life crafted in metal throughout the bike, such as a siren head stationed between the handlebars above the light at the front of the bike.
In addition, a monorail connects the Mirage hotel with Treasure Island and is also free. The ride takes about four minutes.
Located next to Treasure Island on the strip, the Mirage hotel is decorated in a tropical, Polynesian theme and offers multiple free attractions to guests. A volcano erupts outside the hotel every hour on the hour from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. nightly. The volcano includes fire and music. A 20,000 gallon aquarium in the hotel's lobby is 53 feet long, eight feet tall and six feet wide and features sharks, rays, angel fish, puffer fish and other exotic fish.
An atrium with a 100 foot high dome greet visitors to the Mirage. The atrium is filled with palm trees, lagoons, waterfalls and other tropical plants to give visitors an experience in an indoor rainforest. More than 300 fresh orchids and 1,000 bromeliads line the walkways in the atrium.
Located in the middle of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. near Flamingo road and south of the Mirage and Treasure Island, the Bellagio hotel is set behind a large, man-made lake which contains fountains. A show combining water, Opera, classical and Broadway music, and light synchronized with each other is offered free every half hour from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The botanical gardens and conservatory at the Bellagio are also free and feature rare and exotic plants and flowers in displays that the hotel changes quarterly. The hotel's lobby includes a large glass display called Fiori di Como which features multi-colored hand-blown glass flowers arranged on the ceiling. The "O" theater lobby at the Bellagio features numerous sculptures of the human body by artist Richard MacDonald and is also free to visitors.
