Endangered Las Vegas Casinos & Hotels

Endangered Las Vegas hotels and casinos are hotels or casinos failing to make necessary profits. The famed Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding areas changed many times over the years as hotels and casinos went out of business, were demolished and the land sold to other developers.

  1. Lady Luck

    • The Lady Luck Hotel and Casino closed in 2006 for a year-long remodeling. Occasionally, some construction activity occurs at this casino. Four years later, the Lady Luck was still closed, and does not appear ready to open any time soon. No permanent closure has been announced for this building. Little information exists on this property other than it is still under construction. The building appears to be little more than a skeleton of its former self.

    Sahara

    • The Sahara is a long-time mainstay of the Las Vegas Strip area. Dating back to the early 1950s, the Sahara weathered many ups and downs in Las Vegas history. New owners bought the hotel, and reportedly have no intention to close and destroy the hotel, but it has been losing money for several years, as of 2010. This classic hotel and casino shows signs of heading towards an early death.

    Wild Wild West

    • The Wild Wild West Gambling Hall and Hotel is a small hotel, by Las Vegas comparison, just off the main Las Vegas Strip. The Days Inn corporation bought this hotel in 2009. The Wild Wild West Gambling Hall has been under-performing for several years and, by popular opinion, seems to be dying a very slow death. With only 260 available hotel rooms, this hotel survives mostly from profits gained by gamblers in the game room. This hotel suffers from the economic troubles in the United States.

    Imperial Palace

    • The Imperial Palace is a large hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip. The gaming and gambling area for this hotel is typical of hotels its size, but the layout makes it appear much smaller and much more cramped. Caesar's Palace owned this hotel in 2010, which sits directly beside the Imperial Palace. Caesar's Palace is seeking contractors for quotes to remodel the Imperial Palace as another wing for Caesar's Palace Hotel and Casino.
