Wanderlust World Wanderlust World Puerto Rico's Rincón Beach Resort offers rest, relaxation and a full range of water sports at an intimate boutique hotel property that's situated at Almirante Beach on the western coast of the island, near the "town of beautiful sunsets," Rincón.
Tropical style and bright island-inspired color schemes characterize the resort's 118 rooms, 24 of which are one- or two-bedroom suites. Rooms have king or queen bed options and ocean or pool views are available.
The property has an exercise room and children's playground, along with a self-serve business center and a meeting room that accommodates groups from five to 30 people. Guests can take in ocean views from the infinity pool and Jacuzzi.
With cuisine inspired by Caribbean, Spanish and African flavors, the resort highlights its signature Brasas Restaurant, which features eclectic menu items and an outdoor terrace. Another dining destination for cocktails and more casual fare is the Pelican Grill, located adjacent to the pool and overlooking the ocean.
Nightly rates for a room at the resort vary by season, with winter prices at a premium of $260 to $300, in 2010 prices for a stay between December 20 and April 15, That's about $50 higher per night than the summer season's rates. In the winter, suites start at $375 and increase to $665 for a two-bedroom--more than a $60 increase per night from summer.
Rincón packs in plenty of activities, many that revolve around the ocean. Seasonal humpback whale watching is a focus, as are the many water sports that make a splash, including surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving trips to Desecheo Island, wind surfing and wave sailing. Beyond the sea, there's horseback riding, golf courses and nightlife to keep guests entertained.
