Spokane Discount Hotels

Spokane is the largest city between Seattle and Minneapolis on Interstate 90, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and serves as a gateway to the Coeur d'Alene Mountains in northern Idaho. This eastern Washington city has hotels with reasonable room rates near its downtown district, home to Riverfront Park and Spokane Mountain. This peak is on the eastern edge of Spokane and offers opportunities for hiking and climbing activities.

    Airway Express Inn

    • Situated right off Interstate 90, the Airway Express Inn is a budget-style accommodation on the western edge of Spokane. The "Economy Class" room rates at this hotel start at $33 per night, as of fall 2010. "Premium Rooms" at the hotel have Thai-influenced interior décor, and include microwaves and refrigerators. Room rates for "Premium Class" begin at $44 per night. Pets may stay for an extra fee.

      Spokane International Airport is a five-minute drive from the hotel. Airway Express is a 15-minute drive from gaming opportunities at the Northern Quest Casino. This casino resort features slot machines, poker rooms and table games for blackjack, craps and roulette.

      A possible day trip from the hotel is Long Lake in northwestern Spokane, approximately 30 minutes away. This 24-mile long body of water offers facilities for boating activities, and chances for bird watching at Devil Gap Park

    Apple Tree Inn Spokane

    • The Apple Tree Inn, located in northern Spokane, is a motel-style accommodation with rooms starting at $54 per night, as of fall 2010. The rate includes a queen-size bed and complimentary continental breakfast. Some of the suites have full-sized kitchens, and these units go for $74 per night. Other hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool. Pets may stay for an additional fee.

      The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the hiking and bicycling trails on Mount Spokane. During the winter, vacationers can take advantage of the mountain's skiing and snowboarding slopes, which are open from November through early April.

      Apple Tree Inn guests are also within 15 minutes of Spokane wineries in the downtown area, such as Caterina and Barrister. These wineries host tasting events featuring wines from eastern Washington vineyards.
