Gerona Airport (GRO) in Spain is commonly known by several names, including Barcelona Girona Airport and Girona Costa-Brava Airport. It is located just south of the town of Girona (alternately spelled Gerona), and about an hour outside Barcelona. Hosting eleven airlines, this airport has in recent years become popular as an alternate airport for travelers to Barcelona, due to lighter traffic and cheaper flights.
